Antique Tractor Pull Rules and Regulations
3-5 M.P.H. Classes and Rules
The intent of the antique tractor pull is to provide entertaining and friendly competition among antique farm tractor owners.
Please read these rules and regulations carefully!
Common Sense Rules:
1. Tractors need to be registered prior to the event. Tractors will be weighed and lined up before each class. Tractors can be weighed at any time BUT only the weight prior to the pull will be accepted.
2. Only one person is to be on a tractor at any time; no riders.
3. Eligible tractors:
A. Because of insurance requirements, all tractors will look original or be restored to original stock conditions. M&W kits, power packs, and power blocks will be allowed in rebuilding or restoring tractors.
B. Definition of original stock condition: This means the engine is original or is a natural progression replacement, restored to factory specifications. No home made manifolds, headers, engine shields, aluminum manifolds or aluminum frame parts will be allowed. Only manufacturer's original replacement parts are allowed. All tractors are required to have fan shrouds in place.
C. No tractors newer than 1959 will be pulled.
D. Tractors later converted to rubber tires will be allowed. Steel wheel tractors will pull at the end of each class.
E. No splitting of rims to accomodate oversize tires will be allowed. Tire size may be increased one size over original as indicated by the manufacturer of the tractor. Tire size of 14.9 can go to 15.5. Front tire size can be one rim size and one tire size smaller than the original. Example: 6.00-16 = 5:00-15
F. No cut tires will be allowed.
G. No increasing of wheel diameter from original factory size.
H. No alcohol fuel mixture will be allowed. Racing fuel such as CAM ll or Turbo Blue will be allowed. Maximum specific gravity for gas will be .750. No injected gases or nitrous will be allowed. Your fuel may be checked at any time. If any extra checks are to be made on a tractor the operator and two (2) committee members will be present.
I. No GPS will be allowed.
J. Drawbar height cannot exceed 20 inches and cannot be closer than 18 inches from the center of the rear axle to the back of the hitch hole. Drawbars must be securely fastened. No vertical movement is allowed. Purchased, forged twisted clevises are allowed. No support can exceed the top of the axle or original point of hook. A clevis or "D" pull ring must have a minimum 2 3/4" diameter opening. Clevises must have a top support.
K. Wheel weights must be permanently mounted. Addition and subtraction of weights will not be allowed after weigh-in. Suitcase weights will be allowed on the front and back of the tractor. Older tractor weights of any brand will be allowed, however, weights must be mounted neatly against the front of the tractor. No rear weights are to be bolted to the front of the tractor. All weights must be fastened securely and weight brackets must be neat in appearance. Belly bars will be allowed but it must be able to clear the scales.
L. The track flagman has the right to stop any pull if safety becomes a factor.
M. Anyone operating a tractor while under the influence of intoxicants will be automatically disqualified.
N. The puller will not be allowed to change gears but will be able to activate a torque amplifier during competition in the 3 mph class.
O. Any foul language directed toward any track official will mean immediate disqualification.
P. The puller will be disqualified if any tractor wheel touches a track boundary line.
Q. If the track judge feels your front end is too high a flag or whistle blowing will stop you. If the tractor is equipped with wheelie bars the rule does not apply.
R. If a track judge thinks you are showing excessive RPM, he will ask you to pull off the track after your pull to be checked. There will be 300 RPM's allowed over manufacturers specifications. All tractors must have a positive throttle stop with a working govenor.
S. There will be a 1% allowance over your weight limit.
T. If you are not ready to pull in order, you will pull last in your class.
Classes:
Tractors can only pull one speed per weight class. (This may change if the club sponsoring the pull desires to do so.) Third sounding of speed alarm means the puller will be disqualified.
Classes 1959 and older
0 - 2500 pounds 2501 - 3000 pounds
3001 - 3500 pounds 3501 - 4000 pounds
4001 - 4500 pounds 4501 - 5000 pounds
5001 - 5500 pounds 5501 - 6000 pounds
6001 - 6500 pounds 6501 - 7000 pounds
7001 - 7500 pounds 7501 - 8000 pounds
8001 - 8500 pounds 8501 - 9000 pounds
9001 - 9500 pounds 9501 -10000 pounds
