The
Page
County Heritage Festival is a two-day
annual event which is always held on the Columbus Day observed
weekend, in October. First held in 1969, it is one
of the oldest such arts and crafts shows in Virginia.
Attendance has grown to over 10,000 with more than 175 crafters and artists
from throughout Virginia and nearby states.
Craft demonstrations
range from quilt making, woodworking, great wheel spinning, basket weaving,
soap making, and original paintings, to apple butter boiling and apple
cider pressing.
The
Antique Tractor
Steam and Gas Engine Show is one of the largest in the Shenandoah Valley,
and features a large number of demonstrations
of farm work from the county's early days
using steam equipment for wheat thrashing, log sawing, straw baling, and
making shingles and sorghum molasses.
Food is Bountiful! Choose
from dozens of home-made selections. Other favorite events include mule
train rides, face painting, and a variety of live entertainment featuring
bands, cloggers, and shows.
Check back later for this year's Entertainment Schedule.
